Legions of Star Trek fans will gladly tell you that the original 1960s TV series was ahead of its time. The multi-ethnic cast/crew of this beloved cult classic was assembled during a time of great social upheaval and protest to go on a five-year mission to explore new life and new civilizations throughout the galaxy. It would be hard to argue with the "Trekkies", as this ground breaking series led to widespread syndication, several spin-offs, numerous blockbuster films and enough merchandising to fill a galaxy of memorabilia shows.
One of the more important items to arise from the Star Trek universe is the 1976 Topps non-sport trading card series, represented here by a retail display box containing (30/36) wax packs. Decorated with photo images of the Starship Enterprise and series leads William Shatner/Captain Kirk and Leonard Nimoy/Mr. Spock, this dynamic box remains complete and intact with moderate, but inexecessive storage wear. The (30) wax packs are bright and glossy with tight seals. Approximately 25% of the packs have sustained perimeter wrapper fissures which does not significantly impact their overall appearance. Live long and prosper as you contemplate the extraordinary grading possibilities to be unearthed in this prime forty-year-old offering.
