Description



Berwyn Heights, Maryland native Bill Werber was the oldest living MLB player when he died in 2009. He was the first hitter in the first baseball game ever on television and he played with Ruth and Gehrig in the early 1930s. Werber is the subject of this trio of signed items. Includes: 1) Bill Werber signed ("9") vintage glove with (6) inscriptions: World Series 1939-1940, Yankees 1930-33, Red Sox 1933-36, Phila As 1937-38, Cincinnati Reds 39-40-41, NY Giants 1942 (Full JSA); 2) Bill Werber signed ("6") OAL Budig baseball (JSA sticker/card) and 3) Bill Werber signed Memories of a Ballplayer: Bill Weer and Baseball in the 1930s (2001: SABR) book.
