The Little Rock Travelers belonged to the Southern Association on and off for about a half-century between their start in 1901 and their relocation in 1959. Two of their greatest early stars are featured here—Jim Delahanty and Tris Speaker. First is Delahanty at 3B on the
possibly unique 1903 composite photo (6x12) attached to a cabinet-like backing. There is minor perimeter wear and reverse staining, yet the central image area of this sturdy, rigid relic is EX/EX-MT. Speaker shines forth from an oversized 1908 composite print that is likewise perhaps one of a kind. Though the image does appear on a known postcard, we have never before seen it in such a large format—maybe suggesting origins with the team executives or players. The visible area of 11-3/4 x 15-1/4" is apparent NM, within a weathered black frame measuring 19-1/2 x 23". Playing in 127 games that season, the Grey Eagle batted .350 for Little Rock. He also saw action in 31 games at the major-league level with the Red Sox.
