Nine Olympic gold medals (as well as eight golds in the World Championships) gave Carl Lewis quite the resume in his quest to be as great as his boyhood hero, Jesse Owens. Lewis had a complicated relationship with the press, who quite unfairly labeled him as arrogant. Frederick Carlton "Carl" Lewis is the subject of this pair of double-signed track shoes. Each Mizuno Athletic footwear shoe features a ("7") potency Lewis signature in black Sharpie. The orange and yellow shoes feature the "C. Lewis" emblem in the heel and are approximately size 10. These shoes do show use and have been photo matched to the same style he wore during the 1992 Olympic Games, but actual use in those games cannot be confirmed. Auction LOA from JSA.
