NOTE: The BBCE letter reads: "The collation of stickers is proper for a Fleer issued box. There are 3 stickers showing of each player and a 4th sticker showing for 3 additional players. The additional players with a 4th sticker are: Bird, Dantley and Erving."
What a find! The “holy grail” of modern unopened material is available with the offered 1986-87 Fleer Basketball unopened wax box of (36) packs. Recently uncovered in a long forgotten bank vault, this monumental prize has survived the decades in premier condition! With the worldwide phenomenon of Michael Jordan and a stellar crop of rookie NBA legends, the wonderful coupling of condition sensitive player selection and overall scarcity makes this product an investor’s dream. Each tightly sealed pack contains 12 cards plus a sticker and slab of gum. Upon examination by industry expert Steve Hart, his overall conclusion is as follows: “It is my best opinion that this wax box is not the exact 36 packs issued by Fleer. While the packs are very close, the centering and the wrappers colors are just slightly off. We believe that some of the packs may have come from another box to complete this one. However, the packs are a very strong NM-MT condition and 100% original. We will label this box as a “36 pack box.”” With high-grade singles including Jordan reaching dizzying sums, there seems to be limitless potential for the offered product.
