Description

A fantastic and incredibly diverse gallery of paper collectibles is presented. This collection of more than 400 mostly different items contains a tremendous variety of advertising trade cards. The offered lot's appeal lies in its eclectic nature, as well as the sheer beauty of many of its vintage, lithographed collectibles. Major trade card categories included are Clothing (about 50 pieces), Food/Grocery (30), Thread (50), Medicine (55), Perfume/Personal (20), Sewing Machines (20), Tobacco (10) and Farm (10). Sponsors of these items include Ayer’s Sarsaparilla, Clark’s Thread, Rubifoam, Niagara Starch, Hoyt's Cologne, White Sewing Machines, Garland Stoves, A&P, J.P. Coats Thread and numerous others. The group presents overall GD/VG to EX condition with some pieces lesser and a few nicer; a significant number of the items reveal edge trimming or reverse-side spots of thinning or adhesive residue, both of which are standard faults associated with long-ago scrapbook mounting.
