These are the personal effects of Yankees president Frank Farrell, who served as the Tour's unofficial photographer and contributed his photos to the World Tour pictorial book (PR) offered here. Two of the items are documented in that very book —a Melbourne Savage Club event program (spine split), and Farrell's own large double-sided scrapbook page with 22 pasted-on hotel luggage labels. Additionally, Farrell's complete set of the 5 ship logs/menus from the entire maritime journey were used to provide critical source material for the book's daily logs. (Of note, one of the ships was the Lusitania, a year before its sinking, and another ship barely escaped a hurricane.) Perhaps most intriguing of all is the actual receipt for the princely sum of $1,390 that guaranteed Farrell's passage. It has the header "New York-Chicago World's Base Ball Tour" and is signed by White Sox executive Harry Grabiner. Included as well are a World Tour pictorial pamphlet; Japanese wine list; Arizona menu; and 3/7/1914 oversized Illustrated News supplements (2 - both EX). Condition averages about GD overall.
