When our consignor told us how many cards were in his latest storage locker purchase, we thought he was exaggerating. Fortunately for the large volume dealers and bulk prospectors out there, he was correct when estimating over 1,000,000 cards that are now up for grabs to the highest bidder!
It is estimated that 95% or more is baseball with the bulk of it being from 1978-2003, and was purchased from a dealer that kept stockpiling over the years. While you won't be finding any 1952 Topps Mantle's or the like, you will find thousands upon thousands of modern Hall of Famers, stars, rookies and insert cards. There appears to be some vintage in here as well, but it's tough to tell how much as our consignor really only scratched the surface by looking in a couple dozen boxes just to get an idea of the date ranges. A few things of note:
* Hundreds of complete and incomplete sets from the mid-1980s through the 1990s.
* At least a few dozen unopened wax boxes and hundreds of additional loose packs from the 1980s and 1990s.
* 3200 and 5000 ct boxes full of pack-fresh commons and semi-stars from the mid to late-80s.
* Binders full of 1980s sets, Hall of Famers, semi-stars and rookie cards.
Who knows what else could be lurking within, as the vast majority hasn't been touched since the mid-2000s. So if you have the storage space and the time to dive into this mountain of cards, this could be the lot you've been waiting for.
NOTE: Due to size/weight of this lot, pick up is strongly recommended at our consignor's warehouse location in Ellicott City, MD.
