The man who succeded the venerable Stan Lee as editor-in-chief of the Marvel Comics Group plays the main role in this lot of (4) signed and graded Bronze Age comics. A devoted student of Gold Age comics and the Pulp Fiction genre, writer/editor Roy Thomas was seminal in putting the "sword and sorcery" genre on the board with the 1970 introduction of the Conan the Barbarian series.
This man of many credits has signed (3) of the comics featued in this lot, including his revival of Gold Age heroes Captain America, Human Torch and Sub-Mariner in the 1977 The Invaders Annual #1 graded CGCS (9.4 NM) with a ("9-10") Thomas autograph. Also included are (2) other comics signed by Thomas with 1977 Marvel Premiere #35 Featuring 3-D Man CBCS (9.4 NM) with ("9-10") autograph and 1977 What If #2 CBCS (9.4 NM) with ("9") autograph. All (3) Thomas signed books have the same label notation "Signed by Roy Thomas on 6/20/15 at Heroes Con".
Rounding out this group is a 1983 New Mutants #1 inaugural issue graded CBCS (8.5 VF+) and dual-signed by Bob McLoed ("9") with "signed on 9/25/15 at Baltimore Comic Con" label notation and Chris Claremont ("9-10") with "signed on 11/1/15 at Rhode Island Comic Con" label notation.
