Description

Mark “Too Sharp” Johnson had an accomplished fighting career which saw him become the first African-American boxer to win a flyweight title on the way to his induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2012. "Too Sharp" is the subject of this pair of fight-worn shoes from his July 26, 1998 IBF Flyweight Title, in which he successfully retained his title against Luis Rolon in a 12-round decision. The camouflage items feature a blue Nike logo on the insert and solid use, including marks along the heel and the toe of the accessories; the shoes are approximately size 8. These accessories come with a letter from “Too Sharp” and a photograph of Johnson wearing the shoes.

The letter reads:

To Whom It May Concern:

I, Mark “Too Sharp” Johnson wore these shoes at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York vs. Luis Rolon for the IBF Flyweight Title on July 26, 1998.

Sincerely,

Mark “Too Sharp” Johnson
