Figure fanatics track down this amusing set of chalkware statues. Created by L.L. Rittgers in 1941, this trio of figures makes for delightful display, with (2) scowling players and a seemingly unmovable umpire, try as they may these fellows aren't going to get him budge. The (2) pop-eyed players stand approximately 7-1/2" tall with a white-uniformed batter with "N" on his jersey and a gray-uniformed pitcher with "A" on his jersey. The unflinching umpire stands about 6-1/2" and shows only minor wear, while his perturbed companions show moderate wear, including surface and paint loss that reinforces their authentic vintage nature. All (3) figures have Rittgers copyrights impressed onto the left shoe, testifying to their original nature. Also present is a 1945 Philadelphia Phillies program (EX) scored in pencil vs. the Cardinals, with a photo of the Rittgers baseball trio on the front cover.
